Pumpkins and pony rides.

(What the heck happened here?)

This afternoon we got our act together and drove 20 some miles over to Elgin, Texas, to the Elgin Christmas Tree Farm’s annual Pumpkin Festival. It was an afternoon of many firsts for Elizabeth. She hand-fed a llama, patted a horse and a cow and a donkey, and rode a pony.

Then we stopped back at the City Cafe in Elgin for dinner (we discovered that place a year ago or so) for food both delicious and very very bad for us. You know it’s real country cooking when your meal comes with three completely separate fattening white sauces to dip your food into.

After all of that, on the drive home we asked Elizabeth what her favorite part was. “Potty!” Yep. Apparently, her favorite was the bathroom at the City Cafe. We did visit it 3 times (the last time to rinse the cherry pie out of her hair).
